Avoid Morocco VOIP ban to unblock Skype, Whatsapp and Viber

Maroc Telecom, Meditel and Inwi are the three major telecom providers in Morocco. Unfortunately, they recently blocked the apps that offer free calls to people all over the world, and this has caused quite a few reactions in the country. Of course, it goes without even saying that free calls via VoIP apps have been saving a lot of money and have been offering great flexibility to people for a long time.

How to Unblock Whatsapp, Viber and Skype in Morocco

So, this is a huge change that is going to affect residents and travelers to Morocco a great deal. Not only will they be forced to pay more for completing calls abroad, but they will also gradually minimize their social interactions with people internationally. Since they cannot afford it, they will stop calling and thus talking to each other.

On the bright side, there are solutions for you to look for towards unblocking VoIP apps in Morocco. Let’s find out how you can do that, using either a premium VPN or the free VPN tool called Hotspot Shield!

Unblocking VoIP Apps via VPN

With the use of a VPN service provider, you instantly mask your IP address and you appear to be located somewhere else. In this case, you will need to appear somewhere else but Morocco. So, you need to connect to a VPN server that is remotely located in another country, for example in the United States of America. Automatically upon connection, you will be given a US IP address. As a consequence, you will be able to connect to the Morocco VoIP apps like Whatsapp, Viber or Skype.

VPN also encrypts your traffic and thus keeps you out of reach to hackers and snoopers around the globe, no matter on which device you’re. With this tool, nobody can monitor your online activities and this includes heavy censorship applied to the citizens of many regions including Middle East, Europe and China to name a few. It also unblocks channels that are geographically restricted and; therefore, you can rest assured that you are going to watch everything you want, be it Netflix or Hulu or any other GEO-IP channel, even in Morocco.

You just subscribe to the VPN service provider of your choosing, and you connect to a VPN server that covers your needs at a time. If you ask me to recommend one great VPN for unblocking Morocco VOIP apps including Whatsapp, Skype and Viber – it would be none other than IPVanish VPN. They have fast speeds (fastest of all the VPNs I personally tested until today), keep no logs (for the best anonymity), is very easy to use on all devices (with apps for almost every single device) and had the best mobile app on the market.

Unblocking VoIP Apps via Hotspot Shield

A free tool that can help you out towards unblocking Whatsapp, Viber and Skype in Morocco is none other than the Hotspot Shield. It actually is a VPN too, but known more of its free service. Hotspot Shield does not require any special technical knowledge (as like premium VPNs) or any money on your behalf. You just download the respective software on your device, and you turn it on.

From then on, you are automatically connected to a US server. In this way, you can download and use any VoIP app like the ones we have mentioned above, as well as Facebook. It’s relatively fast and reliable, whereas you can get the Elite Version of Hotspot Shield at a reasonable price. This version includes more features of quality for you to enjoy, but if you decide to go with its elite (which is paid) version – I’d recommend you to go with IPVanish VPN as recommended above then. If you can bear with some annoying ads, no privacy,  and speed issues while bypassing Morroco VOIP ban, then; being a free solution, Hotspot Shield would be the right choice for you.

Follow the instructions that we have offered above and sigh with relief, since you will be able to enjoy long distance calls abroad. With the help of Hotspot Shield or any quality VPN service provider in the market like IPVanish VPN, you will get the chance to communicate quickly, inexpensively and efficiently all the time. Enjoy!

  1. Hi There – I tried Hotspot shield and it does work, however it immediately blacklists you and any emails you try to send regard you as a spammer – caused me a load of problems so had to uninstall (not easy!) I guess the thing to do is install it on a machine you do not intend to use for emails….thoughts?

    • Hi Graham, go with the VPN (ExpressVPN) way mentioned in article above – you will get perfect results including no problems with your emails or whatsoever. Hope it helps, if you still encounter any issue – please just drop a comment!
