How to Bypass School Internet Restrictions

So, you are in between classes at school or have just finished your work, and you want to relax on the Internet. However, there is a problem keeping you from doing what pleases you – and this problem is directly linked to the restrictions applied by your educational institution. It is true that such restrictions can be really strict and put you off from enjoying school to the maximum. Even if we do not approve of illegal behavior and even if sometimes students indulge in inappropriate online content, we cannot help but notice that Internet restrictions are not always justified.

What is wrong with accessing information from a website about an assignment that you need to complete while being at school? Where is the problem with playing your favorite games online, when you have got nothing else to do? Who can argue that a few moments on social media can bring you closer with your friends, family or mere acquaintances and why is this prohibited at school? For all these reasons, we have thought it best to display to you how to bypass school web restrictions promptly and effectively.

Of course, be cautious and always keep in mind that you engage in such practices with your own will, and with the possibility of being caught and held accountable for your actions. So, let’s see how you can gain access to the Internet without limitations while at school, shall we?

What Are Internet Restrictions

There are many cases when the Internet access is not thorough and complete. Instead, there are firewalls placed by each network and as a result people dwho wish to connect via the specific network have to comply with the regulations or are not granted access. In avoidance of having too much traffic and slowing down the network too much, the school institutions have applied such restrictions online.

What is more, it is imperative for schools to engage in restrictions for prohibiting students from accessing adult or illegal and inappropriate content. Another reason has to do with the prevention of getting infected by malware, viruses or other online threats.

Methods Available for Bypassing Restrictions

On the bright side, there are quite some methods available for you to have your pick from towards accessing the web without any restrictions whatsoever while being at school. Below, we are going to have a look at the most efficient manners for you to bypass school firewall security and make the most out of the Internet everywhere you are.

Using a Portable Browser

Since a portable browser does not require installation prior to its use on the computer, you can go ahead with using such an option for leaving no trace of your web surfing. What you have to do is to download the portable browser and have it installed on your USB flash drive. From then on, it is a matter of finding the proper proxy server to route all your traffic through. You can find one pretty easily online and once you do you need to write down both the proxy server address and the port used.

Subsequently, you need to open the portable browser that you have installed and configure the proxy settings. This can be done by clicking consecutively on the Options button and then Advanced, Network and Settings. In this way, you will be able to select the manual configuration proxy. This is it! You have found yourself a safe path to browse anything! As a recommended portable browser, we would use Firefox Portable.

Using a VPN (Virtual Private Network)

VPN provides another reliable solution, when it comes to bypassing the restrictions placed by your school. What the VPN does is to change your IP address and thus raise any limitation that has been applied to your original IP address. You connect to the Internet using a Virtual Private Network, selecting among a plethora of servers located internationally.

So, in case you have been restricted access to a website due to your IP address, you will find it liberating to subscribe to a VPN service provider and make use of the conveniences that they offer to you. There are both free and premium VPN options for you and you are expected to take into account some important variables such as the number of servers and IP addresses included within your plan, the cost and of course the ease of setup and use. Generally, there are guidelines that can help you out towards setting up your VPN with the proper application.

We highly recommend IPVanish VPN to bypass school internet restrictions as they are the fastest, most secure, private and not to mention one of the cheapest VPN’s on the market (at least with our exclusive 57% discount via our link.

Using Web Based Proxies

If you do not wish to download anything, a safe way for you to overcome the restrictions at school is definitely the use of web based proxies. In this method, you do not have to worry about shared computers and at school it goes without even saying that you get to share a computer with other students. To be more specific about this option, you need to find out a proxy server that is located as near as possible to your actual location.

Once you access the web proxy site, you write down the URL of the website that you are interested in visiting and you click on the connect button. The only downside with this plain and simple procedure is that the speed is not top notch and there is high likelihood that some web based proxies cease to function from one moment to the next. If this happens to you, you simply start searching for a different proxy.

Creating Your Own Proxy

If you think you are up to the task, it is certainly fascinating to create your own home based proxy for connecting to the web when you are at school. Of course, you need to be technologically literate, in order to pull this through. It is definitely worth trying it out, though! The first thing you ought to do is to transform your computer into a web server. You can do that by downloading any free software aiming at this very same thing, such as WAMPServer or MAMP for Mac users.

Next step involves downloading PHPproxy and, once this is over too, you are ready to configure your port forwarding. Set up TCP/UDP traffic on Port and then find your exact IP address. If you don’t know already, you can find your IP by visiting WhatIsMyIPAddress (which is a free service). Or you simply write “what is my IP” in Google, and it will show you the public IP of your computer. Write it down and then test if you have managed to complete the process, by inserting the IP of yours, followed by /phproxy/. If you get to connect, your own home proxy is working like a charm!

All these methods focus on masking your genuine IP address and creating a safe passage, in order for you to avoid getting restricted as to your web surfing at school (and actually no matter wherever you are).

If you cannot live without freedom on Internet when you are at school, you can experiment with the methods pointed out above and get to bypass school Internet restrictions. If you follow the guidelines to the letter, you will meet no problem in your attempt to browse the Internet risk-free. Weigh both the pros and cons, though, before you start experimenting! Good luck and let us know how your efforts turn out!

  3. These restrictions are so stupid. Some months ago, I stayed at a hotel which blocked an entire web host on the grounds that the websites were pornographic. It’s possible that the web host hosted some pornographic web sites, but the web sites I was trying to access clearly weren’t pornographic.

    • Hi Cool Fire.
      Thanks for the comment.
We don’t see how a proxy program on your USB could affect your games.
In essence, a USB drive is just like an HDD except that it is portable and slightly faster.
So if having a proxy service and games on the same HDD does not affect games then that should be the case for USB as well.

You have to use a VPN or a proxy service to bypass all school firewalls.
We haven’t heard much about Inspect though.
