People all over the globe want to follow golf tournaments—and they want to do so for free through online platforms.
The 2023 Presidents Cup, which is one of the major golf events of the year, is coming up in September 2023. And if you’re interested in watching it online, you can easily do so through several streaming options. For our readers, we’ve compiled some of the best ways to watch the Presidents Cup live and online in 2023.
The event is just weeks away and the closer we get to the game, the more excited the fan base seems to become. The 2023 Presidents Cup is set for September 19-25, 2023 at the Quail Hollow Club (Charlotte, North Carolina), which is routinely ranked as one of the top golf courses in the world. The venue has the capacity to accommodate around 40,000 spectators on a given day.
Other golf courses that have hosted a lot of national and international events include Royal Melbourne Golf Club and the Australian Golf Club.
It is because of this rich history that the Quail Hollow Club is a fitting venue for the Presidents Cup. The Quail Hollow Club has hosted close to 10 Kemper Open. Almost all the greatest golf players on the planet will travel the world to come to the Quail Hollow Club this September.
With that out of the way, this is a good time to take a look at some of the most convenient ways you can watch the 2023 Presidents Cup via online streaming.
But first, let’s cover our bases:

Why a VPN Is the First Thing You Need to Watch the Presidents Cup
The thing about most of the services that we’ve mentioned below is that you never know which one is going to put geo-restrictions on your location. A VPN service is the best way to get around this, so that you can watch the Presidents Cup from anywhere in the world, no matter where the event is hosted or broadcasted.
With a VPN service, you can simply change your location to the country/region in which the streaming service you’re using works.
To start, you can choose from this list of the top VPN service providers on the market. After you’ve signed up for your preferred VPN service and downloaded/installed the app on your device, all you have to do is make sure you’re connected to a VPN server located in the right region. How to Watch the Presidents Cup in the U.S.
The best place to watch the Presidents Cup in the U.S. is NBC. Of course, if you have the right cable subscription then you can watch this premier golf tournament live on TV. NBC’s PGA TOUR LIVE package can cost around $69.99 (via ESPN+ as NBC Sports Gold no longer offers PGA Tour Live coverage) for the season pass, but it does have a free preview option. NBC also provides users with a live streaming option.
You can also use streaming services such as CBS Sports, Sling TV and Hulu TV—all of which are available in the U.S. (Skip to this section of the guide for more.)
Amazon Prime’s PGA TOUR LIVE subscription also covers the Presidents Cup. There’s a 30-day free trial option, after which users will have to pay $14.99 per month (and $139 per year) for a full Amazon Prime Membership subscription. The more appropriate choice is Amazon Prime Video which only costs $9 per month.
A subscription to a streaming service is not exactly cheap. So what should you do when you want to watch the Presidents Cup on a budget?
Our answer: Golf TV is the way to go. The service has a section called Premium Clips and works on iOS and Android devices as well. It has some good quality golf content.
Here’s the catch though: Golf TV isn’t available in the U.S., so you will need to use a VPN to connect to a server located in Australia, Canada, Italy, Japan, the Netherlands, Portugal, Russia and Spain.
There are three passes available for Golf TV, and one of them is free:
- If you only want the basic content, you can continue to use the free account.
- For a larger selection of content, you will have to pay Golf TV around $89.99 annually or $9.99 per month for the All-Access pass. A seven-day free trial is included.
- The Standard pass costs $59.99 annually or $6.99 per month. This option also comes with a seven-day free trial.
This is important:
Make sure you connect to a VPN server outside of the U.S. before signing up for GolfTV and purchasing a pass.More on Golf TV later in this guide.
How to Watch the Presidents Cup in the U.K.
For the U.K., you need Sky Sports. You may have to pay anywhere above $22 per month to use the service. With good device support, you can rest assured that you’ll get to watch the most important matches from the tournament. (Read more about Sky Sports later in this guide.) Skyports also has a golf only subscription package which costs $12 per month. Some users will only be able to buy the golf (or sports) package after subscribing to the base package and then adding Golf as an extra. The final cost can go close to $50 per month.
If you don’t like Sky for some reason, your best options are (through such services won’t provide consistent high quality PGA Live Tour coverage) Now TV or HayU .
This is important:
You may need to use a VPN to access Now TV from Ireland. The service costs around $6.99 per month for a golf tournament like Presidents Cup 2023 .How to Watch the Presidents Cup in Australia
For Australia, the two main services you are looking at are Kayo Sports and Foxtel. Refer to the separate portions of both these services in this guide. Skip to here for Kayo or here for Foxtel.
As for the price, you can expect to pay up to $74 per month for Foxtel and $35 for Kayo Sports. Both services have good device support and loads of channels.
How to Watch the Presidents Cup in Canada
For people who want to watch the Presidents Cup in Canada, the best place is TSN (The Sports Network Canada). TSN is pretty much the best channel for any sport in Canada. The channel also offers a service called TSN Go.
You can download the app on both iOS and Android. The least you can expect to pay for TSN is $17 per month (when on the 12-month package).
How to Watch the Presidents Cup from Anywhere
Irrespective of your location, the safest option is ESPN+. So just get a VPN, change your location to the U.S. and start streaming. You will have to pay anywhere between $6.99 to $69.99(for the yearly package), depending on the content you want. But the service does come with a preview option.
Best Methods to Watch 2023 Presidents Cup Live Online
If you want to watch more of the Presidents Cup than just the post-game highlights, we’ve listed several platforms you can use to tune in to the program:
CBS Sports
In terms of experience, there really is no other streaming service that can compete with CBS Sports. This channel has been streaming sports content for ages now.
Part of the reason why CBS Sports is so popular and reliable is its technical prowess. CBS Sports has some of the best engineers working behind the scenes to make sure that customers are able to watch their favorite sports streams without any interruptions or breaks.
CBS Sports is also popular due to its competitive packages. The price that CBS Sports asks in return for its services is very economical. If you’re used to paying money for services like Netflix and Hulu, you might find CBS Sports is an affordable option. You can also even stream content for free on CBS Sports, but not without advertisements.
CBS Sports commands the respect of the industry not only because it is affordable and reliable but also because it offers high-resolution streams, which is important if you’re watching any sporting event.
Once you have subscribed to one of CBS Sports packages you will find out relatively quickly that the quality of streams is noticeably high on a variety of supported devices.
With a CBS Sports subscription in your hands, you will never have to worry about missing out on watching Presidents Cup 2023 again.
Golf TV
Golf TV is another streaming site that is great at spending a good amount of resources on streaming golf events like the Presidents Cup 2023.
The thing which sets Golf TV apart from the rest of the streaming services is Premium Clips. You may have to create an account on Golf TV to start streaming premium content for a limited time.
Golf TV is perhaps the best at supporting a diverse range of devices. It now supports almost all the major streaming platforms currently available on the market.
You can watch even the most obscure of golf matches on any of your devices and in good quality, which makes Golf TV superior to competitors in the sports streaming industry.
Foxtel
Foxtel allows you to watch almost any important golf match in any part of the world. The streaming service is a joint venture between Australian telecommunications corporation Telstra and U.S. media giant News Corp. This service has over 24 years of experience in the direct broadcasting, cable television and streaming industry.
Foxtel has also been involved in some IPTV (internet protocol television) streaming services.
Currently, the streaming service has focused its efforts on serving people in Australia, but that is not something you need to be concerned about if you know how to use a VPN service on your computer or mobile device.
Foxtel currently offers users multiple subscription plans. The most economical ones start at either $29 (via Foxtel Now) per month to $25 depending on where you live. If that sounds like a lot of money for introductory packages, then know that Foxtel packages offer a more comprehensive content library than other services. The main Foxtel service costs around $74 for the most amount of Sports content (including golf). Sometimes, during a discount period, that price can go as low as $59.2 per month.
With a Foxtel subscription, you can access content such as TV series (complete series rather than an incremental-release episode structure) and movies. You can view all such content at any given time and at any place. Some Foxtel packages even allow users to record and rewind live TV shows (including sports events) so you can save watching for later.
As for device support, you should have no problems in streaming content from iOS and/or Android devices.
Right now, Foxtel’s website is offering a 10-day free trial to new users. That’s a great way to watch Presidents Cup 2023 live and online for free without having to commit your money to it long-term.
If you think your location may present a problem, then use a VPN service to get over any and all geo-restrictions. Click here to learn more about the best VPNs on the market.
With that out of the way, keep in mind that Foxtel Now is different from Foxtel Go. Even though both services come to us from the same company, they cater to a different set of audiences. For example, Foxtel Now costs $25 per month while Foxtel Go costs $100 for new customers.
In the case of Foxtel Go, you will also have to pay around $125 per month as a hardware fee. In your case, since you want to watch the Presidents Cup live online, you need to sign up for Foxtel Now, which costs $25 and comes with a 10-day trial. Foxtel Go does not come with a free trial.
Sky Sports
People living in the U.K. should have no problem using the Sky Sports streaming service to watch the entirety of the 2023 Presidents Cup live and online.
Sky Sports is considered one of the best television sports channels in the U.K. Sky is just one of the many divisions of U.S. media conglomerate Comcast. Sky is one of the most dominant subscription-based streaming services in the U.K., but it is also just as popular in surrounding countries such as Ireland.
Now, even though the main reason people subscribe to Sky Sports is that it streams content from some of the most sought-after names such as the Premier League and others, it also covers sports that may garner a smaller (but equally as passionate) audience, like golf.
Sky Sports has been doing business in the United Kingdom for well over a decade now and still offers its introductory plan for sports content for $55.68 (at the current exchange rate) per month. This price is a bit steep compared to other streaming services, but it is a good value for money. Besides, if you are looking for a streaming service that has an impeccable reputation, then Sky Sports is definitely the one you should stick with.
Those who already have access to Sky services (like Sky Q and/or Sky+) can add Sky Sports Gold at just $17 extra a month.
If you live outside the U.K., then accessing Sky Sports may become a problem. To circumvent this problem, you will need to use a VPN service.
Note:
You can read our VPN guide to determine the best option for you.Once you have signed up for a good VPN service, you need to connect to the right VPN server (ideally located in the U.K. or in a country that Sky Sports supports) and then start the streaming process to watch 2023 Presidents Cup live and online without any hiccups.
Kayo Sports
Kayo Sports is another Australia sports streaming service that many online streamers continue to ignore for one reason or another.
While it is not as big as ESPN Plus or Netflix, and it only has a humble following on social media, Kayo Sports is one of the few streaming services in Australia that offers over 50 high-quality sports streaming channels that you can stream pretty much instantly. Not only that, it comes with advanced features such as live and on-demand video content.
Kayo Sports has three parent companies in the form of beIN, ESPN and Foxtel. This basically allows the streaming service to spend its capital and resources on distributing content that its audience would like. Kayo was created when Fox Sports won the broadcasting rights to stream Cricket Australia for six years by paying $1.2 billion AUD per season.
Now, the only problem with using Kayo is that you can only access the streaming service if you live in Australia. If you live somewhere else, but still want to access all the content that Kayo Sports offers to its users then you need to sign up for a VPN service. After installing a VPN app, you have to connect to a server that is located in Australia in order to stream content from the country.
You don’t exactly have to pay to watch Kayo Sports for certain content. Some of the latest audience data suggests that even though the streaming service has more than 1 million subscribers, it only has 900000+ paying customers.
As you’ll see on the Kayo Sports website, the service does not want to lock in customers by offering them lengthy subscription packages. Neither does it want users to sign on long contracts.
It works a bit like Netflix in the sense that you have to pay a monthly fee of $25 per month if you want the basic package and around $35 per month if you want to sign up for the premium package.
Both packages come with a 14-day free trial, so this is yet another way in which you can watch the Presidents Cup 2023 for free if you have access to a VPN service and Kayo Sports.
We admit that Kayo Sports is not the cheapest streaming service that you will ever sign up for but given the content, advanced features such as DVR and device support make Kayo a pretty good deal.
Hulu
Courtesy of Walt Disney and Comcast, we have Hulu as one of the best places you can watch Presidents Cup 2023 live and online. This streaming service is based in the U.S. and has made a name for itself by offering users exclusive content. Hulu claims that its streaming service offers enough content for it to become your one-stop solution for all TV needs.
The cheapest plan costs just $6.99 per month (and shows ads while the user is streaming content). Hulu also offers a free trial, so you don’t have to take any risks while signing up. However, if you don’t want to view advertisements while watching your favorite movie, TV series or a sports event, you may have to go for the no-ads subscription plan for $12.99 per month.
With that said, there is no guarantee that Hulu will stream the Presidents Cup 2023. You may have to sign up for the Hulu + Live (which now also ships with Disney+ and ESPN+) subscription package, which costs around $69.99 per month (with ads. For the no-ads version of this package, users have to pay $75.99 per month). That may seem like a lot of money, but given the fact that the Live TV feature also brings content from various sports in the off-season, Hulu is totally within reasonable limits of offering a decent subscription package.
This is important:
If you’re located outside of the U.S. and want to use Hulu, read our separate guide covering the best VPNs for Hulu. You can also read our complete review of Hulu Live TV here.
Sling TV
Sling TV is a relatively new streaming service, founded in January 2015. The U.S.-based over-the-top television service offers live TV at $35 per month for the blue plan. With that said, the base plan may not cover the Presidents Cup from start to finish. That’s why Sling recommends users go with the $11 per month add-on for the best possible golf coverage. That would bring the total amount users have to pay for the Presidents Cup close to $46 per month.
You can also take advantage of the 7-day free trial to watch the Presidents Cup 2023 for free.
If you have location problems with Sling TV, just use a good VPN service to connect to a city/state in the U.S. The service is also available in Puerto Rico.
YouTube TV
YouTube TV is the least known option for streaming any content apart from the videos that its independent content creators make. But it is true—YouTube does have a TV service that offers just about any type of content you could ever wish for.
You will have to pay around $64.99 per month though. With advanced features such as DVR and a flexible channel list, you can rest assured that your money is well spent with YouTube TV.
Again, there is a free trial available for new users, so you can potentially watch the entirety of the Presidential Cup 2023 for free by first signing up for the free trial and then canceling your subscription after the tournament is over. It goes without saying that if you don’t cancel your subscription, YouTube will charge you for the next whole month at the beginning of the billing cycle.
