Best Taiwan VPN For Protection Against Cyber Attacks

taiwan_vpn
People in Taiwan need a VPN. We are here to help.

It doesn’t matter if someone has recently relocated to Chiayi, the city the locals most commonly refer to as the country’s Peach City or have landed in Taitung, the beautiful city which faces the whole ocean, the simple fact is that hackers are on the lookout for easy targets.

In other words, online consumers must always think hard about their online security no matter where they are.

Taiwan has recently gone through a number of high-profile cyber-attacks which has increased the number of victims many folds.

According to Taiwan Times, people should expect the number of such attacks to increase in the future.

All of this means that online consumers especially the ones in Taiwan need to take measures in order to ensure their online privacy.

That apparently also leaves us with another question:

Do online consumers already have enough online security by default which is suitable to the modern internet threats that they face on a regular basis?

Our research says, no.

This is the reason why we believe that everyone living in and outside Taiwan should think long and hard about going to the internet without having signed up for a security tool such as VPN or Virtual Private Network.

Virtual Private Network is a great online security tool for the simple reason that it can easily protect the user’s privacy.

In this guide, we will take a look at the best Taiwan VPN available in the market today.
We will also talk about all the benefits that VPN services can provide to the people living in Taiwan regarding security and privacy.

Do I need a Taiwan IP address?

We know that a lot of our readers would be thinking to themselves “why would I ever want to change my original IP address to Taiwan IP address.”

Allow us to answer.

The thing is, IP addresses provide an important piece of information.

Information that anyone with the right skill set can use to know the user’s present location.

When the user is making use of the internet, his/her internet service provider knows the exact location of the user and where the user is accessing the internet from.

Not cool, right?

This is the reason why spoofing one’s location and/or IP address and then obtaining the IP address of the given VPN service provider which is located in another country can potentially change the order of things.

And rather dramatically.

Here are some of the reasons why we believe online consumers need to get themselves a Taiwan IP address

  • Protect one’s online privacy
  • Access various streaming sites from all over the world
  • Play games in Taiwan from abroad
  • Unblock apps and websites which are only available to people living in Taiwan
  • Prevent one’s internet service provider from knowing one’s current location

11 best Taiwan VPN services which are free and paid

Here at Security Gladiators, we have probably reviewed each and every single major and reputable VPN service available in the market today.

Of course, we won’t mention them all here because they aren’t that good.

The way we test VPN services is on the basis of their download speed, encryption and the fact that they offer VPN servers in Taiwan.

Primarily though, we judge best Taiwan VPN services by their ability to allow users access to websites and apps in Taiwan from outside the country.

With that out of the way let’s take a look at the conclusive list of best VPNs for Taiwan.

  • NordVPN
  • IPVanish
  • PureVPN
  • Surf Shark
  • CyberGhost
  • ExpressVPN

NordVPN

As far as strong encryption goes, our research shows that NordVPN indeed has the strongest and the latest VPN encryption of all the VPN services that we have listed in our Taiwan VPN list.

This VPN service provider even offers a double VPN encryption which has the ability to keep the user’s online privacy safe and protected doubly more than is normal.

NordVPN offers users a total of 4900+ VPN servers.

Around 11 of these VPN servers are located in Taiwan alone.

For millions and billions of people living outside Taiwan, this makes it very easy for them to access apps and websites that only people in Taiwan can access.

With a VPN service like NordVPN, the user’s data remains pretty much private.

And that is because the company follows a strict and genuine No-logs policy.

One other feature which we think makes NordVPN as the best VPN for Taiwan is that the company allows users to enjoy the internet without having to worry about any restrictions or anything like that regardless of the fact where they live.

With NordVPN on one’s computer machine, the user should have no problems in witnessing a better and safer online experience.

To sign up for NordVPN from the official website at a reduced price right here and right now,

Pros

  • Can connect up to a total of six simultaneous devices with just a single account
  • automatic kill switch
  • 11 VPN servers in Taiwan alone
  • Over 4900 servers based in over 62 countries
  • double VPN encryption available

Cons

  • Advanced security features such as double VPN encryption actually make the user’s streaming experience much slower and littered with buffering issues.

IPVanish

IPVanish makes it its job to make sure that it is able to secure each of its customers’ private connection with a strong 256-bit encryption.

In other words, everything that the user does on the internet remains secure and hidden.

IPVanish, our research shows, is the perfect platform if we’re talking about concepts such as internet freedom.

Why?

Because this VPN service offers users over 1000 VPN servers that they can use to unblock anything and everything while connected to the internet.

Technically speaking, IPVanish does not offer a VPN server in Taiwan.

However, IPVanish does have multiple servers in Hong Kong.

And they are able to unblock various websites and apps in Taiwan.

Apart from that, IPVanish servers can also bypass government surveillance programs.

Now comes the best part.

IPVanish is perhaps the only top-level VPN service that offers users to connect up to 10 different devices with the help of nothing but a single IPVanish account.

IPVanish now also offers a live chat support that users can contact 24/7.

The company makes use of a 256-bit encryption which can protect the user’s privacy from actors such as cybercriminals, malware, and spyware.

To sign up for IPVanish from the official website at a reduced price right here and right now,

Pros

  • 40000 shared IP addresses available
  • 256-bit encryption
  • User-friendly applications
  • Allows up to 10 different devices to have a connection via the same account
  • Over 1000 servers with which users can access blocked content in Taiwan.

Cons

  • The official money-back guarantee only lasts seven days.

PureVPN

shutterstock_1137844376

This VPN service is definitely one of the more preferred choices when it comes to signing up for a perfect Taiwan VPN.

PureVPN offers users VPN servers in excess of 2000+.

Not only that, the great thing about PureVPN server network is that it has VPN servers located in Taipei, Taiwan.

The company is one of the few VPN service providers that offer exclusive and ozone-ready VPN servers.

With these servers, the users gain the ability to boost their browsing and streaming speeds.

The majority of the VPN service providers usually decrease the user’s internet speed.

However, VPN services such as PureVPN actually make it much easier for online users to boost their server speed when they want to and where they want to.

If we’re talking about a VPN service that has the capability to unblock an app, website or any other online streaming service, for example, US Netflix in Taiwan, then PureVPN is one of the better choices of services that can manage to give users a high level of performance.

Our research shows that users have the ability to secure a total of five different devices with just a single VPN account.

Not only that, this VPN service also makes sure that it keeps the user’s online activity safe and identity secure.

Pros

  • Unlimited bandwidth
  • Intuitive apps
  • five simultaneous devices allowed
  • VPN servers in Taipei, Taiwan
  • Special ozone-ready VPN servers

Cons

  • No free version available.

ExpressVPN

If there is one VPN service that offers users each and everything that they would require from a perfect VPN for Taiwan, then it is ExpressVPN.

Why do we say that?

We say that because ExpressVPN offers users blazing-fast VPN speeds especially when it comes to online activities such as streaming.

The company offers users 2000+ VPN servers along with zero online restrictions when downloading and/or streaming anything.

Our research also shows that NordVPN offers users VPN servers in over 94 countries including countries such as Taiwan where the company offers the user a total of 2 VPN servers.

We know that is not a huge number but consider the fact that many elite VPN service providers seem to not care much about offering users a VPN server in Taiwan.

Such servers in Taiwan make sure that expats all over the world are able to watch the best of their favorite content and that too without being inside their home country.

ExpressVPN also offers users with a unique and solid offshore privacy protection.

Why does it do so?

It does that because the company is headquartered in the infamous British Virgin Islands.

That place does not have any kind of data retention laws.

Moreover, the law does not require VPN services to keep activity logs there.

Apart from that, the island has enough about it to protect all the online data of people connecting to the internet from within its boundaries itself.

ExpressVPN is no slouch when it comes to encryption either as it makes use of the very strong 256-bit encryption which keeps the user’s data flowing through a private channel while it travels the vastness of the planet.

Pros

  • Stunningly fast speeds.
  • 256-bit encryption.
  • Headquarters in British Virgin Island.
  • A total of 2 VPN servers located in Taiwan
  • 2000 VPN servers

Cons

  • Only allows users to connect up to a total of three devices on a single account
  • Slightly on the expensive side.

Ivacy

shutterstock_1137031031

Ivacy brings to the table an easy-to-use and affordable anonymous streaming service.

The company offers users over 450 VPN servers which are located and available in excess of 100 locations.

As expected, it also covers Taiwan.

Our research shows that the company’s servers located in Taipei can successfully enable people living outside of Taiwan to have access to online content which is available only from within the country.

We have also come to know that Ivacy, as a VPN service, has a pretty rock-solid online security system.

In other words, the company makes use of a 256-bit encryption for all its connections and allows users to connect up to 5 simultaneous connections.

Furthermore, users can also download torrents via Ivacy and that too, all day long without ever having to fear prying eyes monitoring their every online move.

The company allows unlimited bandwidth and speed on all of its VPN servers which total over 450.

Additionally, Ivacy comes with all the in-demand VPN protocols.

Pros

  • 256-bit encryption connection.
  • A kill switch feature.
  • Several available VPN protocols.
  • Supports all major platforms and devices.
  • VPN servers totaling over 450 including one VPN server in Taiwan.

Cons

  • Lack of free version.

VyprVPN

The reason why VyprVPN has made it to the list is that it can unblock content in Taiwan with a VPN server that is located in Taiwan.

That means, no more having to make a sad face whenever faced with geographical restrictions.

VyprVPN comes to the market courtesy of Golden Frog, the company behind the product.

The fact that a company is backing its operations, VyprVPN is able to offer users more than 700 VPN servers which are located in over 70 countries.

There is little doubt about the fact that the majority of the companies would actually block VPN services in order to not allow international traffic that tries to access their apps and services.

However, VyprVPN has all the technology in place which enables users to defeat measures such as VPN blocking.

And perhaps that is the right thing to do.

VyprVPN is a VPN service for all internet-enabled devices.

Not only that, it is actually available for all major platforms.

That includes Linux as well.

The more important thing here is that the company offers over 200,000 shared IP address to customers.

They are allowed to do an unlimited amount of server switching without any restrictions.

Pros

  • Available on all major platforms and devices
  • A customer support which is available 24/7.
  • Over 700 servers located in over 70 different countries
  • 200,000 shared IP addresses for users to take advantage of.
  • VPN servers in Taiwan.

Cons

  • The company does not allow payments made via cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin.

Windscribe VPN

Users who want to unblock content with geographical restrictions and only available in Taiwan should give Windscribe a try.

It is a great VPN service for users who are outside Taiwan but still want to access content all content available in Taiwan.

Windscribe is perhaps one of the few VPN services that offer users a total of 6 VPN servers available ready-to-be-used in Taiwan.

Our research shows that users should have no problems in unblocking content via Windscribe in Taiwan.

Furthermore, Windscribe’s official VPN client also has the ability to stop leaking the user’s personal information.

And the company does that by enforcing a strict zero-logs policy.

None of the user’s information that is stored on the company’s servers is saved by the company.

The company further avoids giving opportunities to various hackers and other cyber criminals by making use of a strong encryption.

In other words, it makes use of the AES 256-bit encrypted[tion.

Apart from that, the company has VPN servers available in over 55 countries.

This is perhaps the reason why Windscribe is among those premium VPN services that can unblock US Netflix on a regular basis.

Lastly, Windscribe offers users free subscription plans in order to include people who don’t have the budget for a premium VPN service, in its fold.

Pros

  • Free VPN plans available
  • Can unblock US Netflix and other streaming services.
  • AES 256-bit encryption
  • Zero activity logs on the user
  • VPN servers located in over 55 countries which includes Taiwan.

Cons

  • The real-world streaming speed is slightly on the slower side.

TunnelBear

TunnelBear is a VPN service that operates a decent VPN network which spans a total of 30 countries.

However, within those 20 countries, it includes Taiwan.

In other words, it has VPN servers in Taiwan for users to connect to and then access content.

However, our research shows that if the user tries to unblock all geographical restrictions placed on Taiwan website even with a server that is located in Hong Kong, the VPN worked just fine and allowed access.

The other thing readers need to know is that, TunnelBear is actually a freemium service.

In other words, it offers users free plans and then it offers them a premium plan.

The free plan which TunnelBear offers gives the user a limit on the amount of data that he/she can use per month.

At the time of writing this report, TunnelBear allowed users to use 500MB of online browsing and streaming.

However, once the user got past that, it did not allow him/her to connect.

Upon first using TunnelBear, users will find that this VPN service is pretty good when it comes to providing streaming-level speeds.

Pros

  • One of the only VPN services that has allowed an independent security firm to carry out a security audit.
  • Can open up the internet with no restrictions.
  • Users are allowed to browse the internet with privacy.
  • The free plan comes with a total of 500 MB of data per month.
  • Can unblock Taiwan websites with geo-restrictions on them.

Cons

  • It does not unlock streaming services such as US Netflix.
  • The total number of countries on offer is 20 which is low.

Proton VPN

shutterstock_1118707271

ProtonVPN offers users VPN servers in over 22 countries.

However, the number of servers are more than 22 countries.

Our research shows that currently, ProtonVPN offers users over 261 VPN servers.

That is an impressive feat for a young VPN service.

People who have tried to access websites outside Taiwan while using ProtonVPN have managed to successfully unblock Taiwan apps and websites.

This is something ProtonVPN can always do and with reliability.

Readers don’t need us to tell them that the most prevalent problem regarding the current state of the internet is eavesdropping that different characters carry out in order to track user internet activity.

ProtonVPN has the ability to prevent all actors from spying on the user with the help of its powerful encryption feature.

This VPN service is always one of our favorites because it makes use of VPN protocols which are not only good but also known to be very secure.

Yes.

We’re talking about VPN protocols such as OpenVPN and others.

The company is based in Switzerland, which is great as well.

Why?

Because Switzerland, thankfully, falls outside the jurisdiction of Europe and the US.

Pros

  • DNS leak protection
  • Zero-log policy
  • Based in Switzerland
  • Strong VPN protocols
  • Can unblock all restrictions on Taiwan apps and websites.

Cons

  • Our research showed that it had slow US VPN servers

PrivateVPN

This VPN service provider has made it to Security Gladiators list of the best VPNs for Taiwan which unblock anything and everything that exists in the realm of the internet.

The thing that makes PrivateVPN more unique than others is the speed at which it has grown over the past many years.

And the reason for its rapid rise has been its fast VPN servers.

Also, this VPN service has great support for all mainstream internet-enabled devices.

With a VPN service such as PrivateVPN, users can make themselves completely undetectable when they are trying to browse media which has geo-restrictions on it.

PrivateVPN has a VPN server in Taipei which conveniently accesses all the media content which is available in countries such as Taiwan.

The VPN service is based in Sweden.

And that gives it the advantage over others where the company does not have to follow many data retention laws.

Apart from that, it also allows the company to adhere to a strict zero-log policy.

In other words, even PrivateVPN does not know what its customers are doing on the internet when they have connected to the internet via the company’s many VPN servers.

Pros

  • The kill switch feature.
  • Official 30-day money-back guarantee
  • Unlimited speed
  • Many VPN servers based in Taiwan
  • The number of simultaneous connections allowed is six.

Cons

  • The total number of servers, at 100, is not high when compared with what’s out there.

ZenMate

ZenMate, as a good VPN service, has a lot of tools up its sleeve to stop anyone and everyone who tries to track its customers’ online behavior.

It does that by making use of a 256-bit AES encryption implementation.

Our research shows that this implementation is the strongest that is available in the VPN industry.

ZenMate also deserves a place in the best VPNs for Taiwan list at Security Gladiators because it is able to unblock almost all Taiwan websites at the snap of nothing but the user’s fingers.

Not only that, ZenMate actually has a VPN server which is based in Hong Kong.

Users can make use of this Hong Kong server in order to access almost all the online content which is available in Taiwan.

Apart from that, users can also use the ZenMate service in order to bypass various geographical restrictions when they are traveling to countries with strict internet laws.

This is a great service for people who are living abroad but miss online content from their homeland.

The other thing readers need to know here is that pretty much similar to TunnelBear, ZenMate offers its services on a freemium model.

In other words, it has a free version and a paid version for free and premium VPN servers respectively.

Pros

  • Has a free edition
  • Provides good security to browse the websites.
  • Available on all major mainstream internet-enabled devices
  • Offers fast VPN servers
  • Strong encryption
  • VPN servers in Taiwan work

Cons

  • The premium service cost is high.

How to Setup Taiwan VPN

Here are the steps that users need to follow in order to get their VPN up and running for work in Taiwan.

Step 1

First, go to the official website of any given VPN service here and then subscribe to a package of your choosing.

We have already mentioned which VPN service we think is the best VPN for Taiwan.

To save the reader of the time it would take to scroll back up, let’s have it again:

It is NordVPN.

To sign up for NordVPN from the official website at a reduced price right here and right now,

Step 2

If the reader in on the Windows platform then the user needs to download the correct VPN client from the official website of the VPN service provider that he/she has signed up for.

Likewise, for the Android platform and others.

Step 3

Once the user has downloaded the official VPN client app, then the user needs to open up the official VPN app on his/her computer machine (assuming the user has already installed the app by going through the installation process).

The next bit involves the user entering his/her username and password on the main screen of the VPN client.

Step 4

Now the user needs to select the category of a given VPN server if the VPN app allows for that.

Some VPN services have different servers for different activities and some don’t.

So the user has to think of his/her own situation first and then proceed to connect to a server.

Step 5

The previous step is more or less optional because some VPN services don’t have any “modes” or “special servers.”

All that they have is a list of servers from where the user can select the server that he/she wants to connect to.

Since, in our scenario, we want the user to connect to a server which is located in Taiwan, the user should forget about selecting modes and simply pick out a server from the provided list of servers which is based in Taiwan.

Simple as that.

Step 6

When that’s done, the user simply needs to hit the Connect button on the VPN client app.

And that is it.

Now the user is free to enjoy the freedoms of the internet that all good VPN services provide.

Advantages of Taiwan VPN

shutterstock_632524484

For protection against hackers, a given Taiwan VPN is a thoughtful option

Recently, hackers have carried out a series of harmful cyber attacks on the Ministry of Health and Welfare in Taiwan.

Not only that, hackers have also tried to hit the foreign affairs office, the interior office, and the presidential office.

They have also tried to compromise other departments.

Various media outlets have reported that hackers have attacked them as well.

Some have classified the severity of these cyber attacks as level 4 attacks.

For readers who don’t know, level 4 attacks, in Taiwan, are considered the most severe of attacks.

Now, even though the recent cyber attacks had a relatively low success rate because of the fact that the government in Taiwan had already taken measures against them, it is also true that the chain of attacks started with the help of a single piece of malware that was found in the Taiwan ministry’s core information security system.

The majority of the times, what hackers want is what everybody else wants:

Money.

But unlike regular people, hackers don’t care about the means that they adapt to get that money.

Cybercriminals are as much criminals as their counterparts in the real world.

The fact that they have a cyber prefix doesn’t mean they are any less criminals than regular real-world shop-burglary criminals.

This is the reason why most of the cybercriminals on the internet target,

  • Documents
  • Passwords
  • Photos
  • Videos
  • Banking information
  • Credit card numbers.

With the help of a VPN service though, regular users can protect their online data and privacy while making sure that all of that remains hidden from the spying eyes of those nasty cybercriminals.

With a Taiwan VPN in place, the user’s privacy is safe because it is encrypted.

Unblock apps and websites

Once the user accesses a server located in the US while living in Taiwan via a Taiwan VPN service, each and every app or website which is available in the US would not become available to the user as well.

Taiwan VPN services are great at unblocking social media services such as Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook.

The best VPNs for Taiwan also take care of all the popular communication services such as Line, Skype, WeChat, Whatsapp and others.

Bypass all internet surveillance and censorship

Our research is clear on the fact that Taiwan is currently not one of such countries that like to promote measures such as internet censorship.

However, one can’t ignore some universal online restriction rules and regulations which prevent certain websites from operating properly in certain countries.

There is no way for online consumers to get around that simple fact.

Different websites work in different countries a bit differently or not at all.

However, a VPN service is a fantastic tool for people who want to get around all those internet censorship programs regardless of their original location.

Online privacy can secure the user’s connection

We have already talked about the fact that a Taiwan VPN would enable the user’s data to follow within the company’s tunnel.

The company also makes sure that it has encrypted the tunnel with a powerful AES 256-bit encryption.

That arrangement means that even if a spy or a third-party marketing company is able to see data that if slowing somewhere, they won’t know what is in that data because it would be encrypted.

So the user’s data can flow through the entirety of the internet without having to deal with bad actors.

Again, no one can know what is inside the data packets which are encrypted even if the packets are somehow found.

With current technology, it is virtually impossible for anyone to decrypt an AES 256-bit encryption.

Of course, with the advent of quantum computers that could change some ten years into the future.

Hide IP address completely

It should become very clear to our readers by now that a VPN exchanges the user’s original IP address with one of its own VPN server’s IP address.

In the process of doing so, it can mask the user’s original IP address and thus keeps the user pretty much invincible.

We have already mentioned that the IP address of any given machine determines the location of that machine and, from that, the user’s country.

If the user is making use of another country’s assigned IP address then there is no way for anyone to know the user’s original location or is there?

Well, with a VPN service, there isn’t.

A Taiwan VPN can help users access all geo-restricted content

Let’s make more things clear as we move forward.

The real reason why people want to sign up for a Taiwan VPN is that they want to unblock geo-restricted content.

That is it.

And it’s not like its a waste of a VPN service.

Why?

Because all good streaming services are doing it.

They are blocking users from certain countries to access their content.

Sometimes they block users from their own country as well if those users are not within their home country.

That is unfair on anyone who has paid for content but is traveling abroad for work and play.

Content providers like DAZN, Now TV, Sling TV, BBC iPlayer and a lot of others have regionally restricted their content to a certain number of countries.

This means that if the user is not residing in a country of their choice, they are going to block access to their streams.

In our case, they won’t show content in Taiwan.

So, in order to get complete and instant access to all types of geographically blocked online content, all that the user needs to do is to first connect to a VPN server that is located in Taiwan and then connect to a server that is located in the US.

That way, a streaming site like Now TV and Netflix would think that the user is from the US and hence will unblock content allowing full access to their services.

Bypass all government interference with a Taiwan VPN

No one should waste time and debate the fact that Taiwan offers users plenty of leverage.

Almost as much as it can when it comes to issues such as internet freedom.

With that said, it is also true that the authorities in Taiwan recently tried to impose internet censorship policies China-style.

However, the people of Taiwan did not support it and hence the project lost steam.

The internet restriction law never went into effect in Taiwan.

But who is to guarantee that something like that won’t happen again?

Maybe next time, such a measure will go through the proper channels and then the government may finally impose it.

In such a case, the only viable way for anyone to mask his/her IP address without actually letting the country’s government know about it to use a Taiwan VPN.

That is the only sure-fire way to bypass government interference with anonymity.

Good Taiwan VPN services offer 256-bit encryption which keeps the user’s internet data flowing rapidly within the company’s own server.

The company encrypts the server as well, as mentioned before.

So there is double protection there.

Free Taiwan VPN

First question, is it really worth it?

Allow us to help in answering that question.

Paid VPNs are paid VPNs for a reason.

They provide a service for which they themselves have to incur costs.

That one line up there is the reason why we feel that free VPN services can never truly compete with paid VPNs.

Free VPNs are free because they don’t take the necessary precautions that paid VPNs do.

And the user would not want to have a VPN service in Taiwan or China that MAY or may not work.

Any user should sign up for a VPN service that WILL work.

Period.

Our research shows that free VPNs often to not take the responsibility of implementing certain VPN features such as,

Unblocking high-quality premium streaming services and websites.

Hiding the user’s IP address properly.

Maintaining a zero-log policy.

Encrypt the user’s flow of data.

Provide powerful protection for the user’s privacy.

Now, we’ll admit that users who do not care about the things we have just mentioned above may as well make use of a free VPN service.

But for those who have their online security as their top priority, they need to read a bit more.

The most important thing that all readers need to understand here is that not all VPNs that are free would go through the trouble of maintaining a VPN server in a place like Taiwan.

This is the key difference that everybody needs to understand.

If the user is located in the United States but wants to access content which is Taiwan, then he/she is likely to fail not because he/she doesn’t know any better but because the free VPN did not do its job.

Moreover, the user may also lose his/her internet privacy for not paying money equal to a cup of coffee at Starbucks.

There are some VPN services that we would like to mention in any case though.

They are,

  • Me
  • Hotspot Shield
  • Taiwan VPN Gate

With that said, if there is one VPN service that we would beg readers to stay away from then its Hola VPN.

Time doesn’t permit us to go into more details (besides readers are free to search for this fact on the internet) but Hola VPN is nothing but a botnet.

Stay away from it.

Should I use a VPN or Proxy for Taiwan?

Interesting question.

Our research shows that signing up for a proxy service in order to gain access to Taiwan content is a bit like using a free VPN service for Taiwan.

What we really mean to say is that in both cases the user is not going to unblock content for sure and his/her online privacy won’t have bulletproof security.

In fact, it is a known fact that proxy services, even if they unblock apps and websites in all countries of the world including Taiwan, can’t guarantee the user’s online security.

This is not acceptable.

The reason for that is simple as well.

Unlike a VPN service, a proxy service does not have access to a tunnel that has encryption applied to it.

Moreover, it also does not keep the user anonymous from the always-present prying eyes of the country’s government.

On the other hand, a reasonable VPN service can do everything that a proxy service can do with ease.

Not only that, it can and does protect users privacy which is of top priority to the VPN service and should be for the user as well.

Conclusion

Taiwan suffered a series of cyber attacks in the last couple of months or so and that led to a sudden spike in the interest that people showed in VPN services.

They did it because they started to wonder about their anonymity, safety, and online security.

However, a VPN service is the best solution to all online privacy problems.

A VPN is nothing more than a piece of software that one installs on his/her system.

It stands for Virtual Private Network and the software helps online users to protect their online privacy and data properly.

Throughout the duration of this guide, we have tried our best to list out the best VPNs for Taiwan according to our research.

We suggest that readers should take advantage of the money-back guarantees that all of our best VPNs for Taiwan offer to test them and then see if they want to stick with one.

  2. Thanks for such an informative article, I did not know that Taiwan suffered so many cyber attacks in the last couple of months. I actually started using Nordvpn after that huge Facebook scandal to protect my private information. I like their service because they offer a double encryption and strict no-logs policy. I believe, that vpn service is the best solution to hide your identity.

  3. Ip vanish is cool I was using it and was pretty satified until I got PureVPN. PureVPN it equally brillant but way cheaper than IPvanish. Plus their chrome extension unblock netflix and iplayer which I always wanted ❤️❤️❤️

    • Hi Emma,
      Thanks for the comment.
      That’s great.
PureVPN is also becoming more popular with online consumers.
However, we still feel that NoedVPN is better as an all-rounder since it not only takes care of speed and security but also its zero-log policy which is something a lot of, even good, VPN services don’t do.
