Cartoon Crazy is a popular Kodi add-on that enables parents of all ages to find and stream children’s cartoons and other TV programs.

To consume content through the Cartoon Crazy Kodi add-on, parents usually have to install a Kodi media center on their internet-enabled device.

Because of the fact that Cartoon Crazy supports Kodi, you can watch the service’s content on almost any given device.

Some of the devices that work great with the Cartoon Crazy add-on include iOS, Android, Windows PC, Macintosh PC, Amazon Fire Stick, Apple TV and Roku.

Cartoon Crazy offers users a ton of easily available and accessible content. Sometimes though, that content is not safe or even legal to watch.

How does one go about navigating the different types of content?

In this guide, we will take a look at how Cartoon Crazy works and how users should consider the risks they have to take when installing this Kodi add-on.

How to Stay Safe and Protect Your Privacy on Kodi

Kodi is a very versatile media player.

It can do a ton of stuff that the vast majority of Kodi users do not care about.

What most Kodi users care about is streaming movies and TV.

However, users who have Kodi just to stream their favorite content don’t fully grasp the security and privacy risks they have to deal with.

Some of the privacy risks that one has to take with Kodi streaming are truly unique.

And the greatest source of such risks comes from unofficial Kodi add-ons.

But that is not a huge problem anymore since you can easily download a good Kodi-compatible VPN service to have protection.

Kodi is a very versatile media player. It can do a ton of stuff that the vast majority of Kodi users do not care about.

VPNs (which stands for or Virtual Private Networks), have become rather necessary Kodi supplements.

Even Kodi users who use the Kodi app on their device for completely legal reasons have to use a VPN to stay safe.

It doesn’t really matter if you are using an official Kodi add-on or an unofficial Kodi add-on. You must use a VPN service to protect your privacy.

Hackers are clever, and their skills are evolving every day.

They don’t really care if the add-ons you’ve installed on your internet-enabled Kodi device are from the official Kodi add-on repository or someplace else.

Sooner or later, they will find a way to hack a given Kodi add-on. And when they do, they’ll have no problem using that Kodi add-on to infect the Kodi user’s device with nasty malware.

Another major security threat is  man-in-the-middle cyberattacks, which allow all sorts of hackers to steal Kodi users’ private data via their internet connection.

Hackers can only do that if they can access the user’s system, and the best way for them to do that is via a Kodi connection that does not have VPN protection.

Using a VPN service with Kodi isn’t just about staying safe from hackers. Kodi add-ons do come with their own risks.

But you cannot rule out problems arising with your internet service provider.

Many independent researchers have caught ISPs throttling the total internet bandwidth of specific users who identify themselves as cord-cutters.

This makes sense, since a cord-cutter is likely to use more data than an average online user.

Video content, after all, is pretty data-intensive and there is a high chance that a cord-cutter would consume data worth several average online consumers who in fact do have cable subscriptions.

Moreover, broadband internet service providers usually consider streaming services as their direct competitors since some of the biggest ISPs in the country also have their own cable TV packages.

The ISP sector is facing a threat to its future as  cord-cutters don’t have to pay extra for using so much bandwidth through their video streaming habits.

Using a VPN service with Kodi isn’t just about staying safe from hackers. Kodi add-ons do come with their own risks.

Of course, they are well within their rights to demand more money from cord-cutters.

Cord-cutters cost more money to internet service providers than online consumers who do not use streaming services as their primary mode of watching TV.

Internet service providers, just like any other business in the world, need to protect their bottom line. And they do so by throttling your internet connection.

Kodi users who have been on the platform for a long time to stream video content would already know how important it is to use a VPN service.

But how does a VPN service become useful? First, it works by encrypting all of the user’s online data. It also protects the data while it is in the state of transmission.

When a Kodi user protects themselves with the help of a VPN service, it becomes much harder for would-be attackers and internet service providers, if not entirely impossible, to figure out who a given Kodi user is or what the Kodi user is doing on the internet.

Another bonus: A VPN service can also prevent any type of ISP snooping, a practice that is becoming more and more common as the years roll by.

Apart from that, VPN services keep your online activities safe and Kodi buffering to a minimum.

But since there are so many VPN service providers available on the market today, how do we know which one should we sign up for if we want to watch Cartoon Crazy on Kodi?

Lucky for you, we’ve written a complete guide on it below. We’ve also made a separate guide to VPN services for Kodi, so you’ll want to check that out as well.

Generally speaking though, you should try to sign up for a VPN service that makes use of its own infrastructure and VPN servers.

That is the only way a VPN service can ensure consistent high speeds. Such a VPN service would also allow you to avoid any kind of interruptions during your streaming session.

With a fast VPN at your side, you should also have no problems with watching video content in HD.

Man working on a laptop with vpn in the background
VPNs (which stands for or Virtual Private Networks), have become rather necessary Kodi supplements.

Apart from that, you should try and sign up for a VPN service that keeps zero logs and does not store information about your internet activity.

That holds true especially for folks who care more about their privacy than about video streaming. Ideally, your VPN service should have VPN apps for all major and popular platforms and devices.

And we can tell you from experience that there are very few VPN services that offer a dedicated app for Amazon Fire Stick.

So watch out for that if you plan on streaming Kodi content on an Amazon device.

DISCLAIMER: Security Gladiators in no way encourages or condones any kind of copyright violation or circumvention of restrictions. That includes streaming illegal content via Kodi. Kodi is a great way to access all kinds of content on the internet and there are plenty of opportunities there to engage in legal and safe online streaming. This is also a good time to mention that you should always do a bit of your own research before installing and accessing any given Kodi add-on, repository and stream source.

How Does the Cartoon Crazy Add-On Work for Kodi?

As mentioned above, Cartoon Crazy is an unofficial Kodi add-on that does a terrific job of searching the deep reaches of the internet to find a ton of videos that the Kodi user might be looking for.

Because  the Cartoon Crazy Kodi add-on is not an official Kodi add-on, in order to install it, you’ll first have to install an unofficial third-party Kodi repository called Lucifer’s Repo.

Perhaps this is a good time to mention that the Kodi community has plenty of Kodi add-ons that focus on searching and finding TV shows and movies for adults.

On the other hand, Kodi add-ons such as Cartoon Crazy narrow their search and only look for online sources that have titles listed in the children’s content category.

As mentioned above, Cartoon Crazy is an unofficial Kodi add-on that does a terrific job of searching the deep reaches of the internet to find a ton of videos that the Kodi user might be looking for.

This is the primary reason why Cartoon Crazy has become so popular among families.

With that said, we would be remiss not to mention that parents need to exercise care while using this Kodi add-on.

As mentioned before, every Kodi add-on comes with significant privacy risks, even more so when you’re trying to install Kodi add-ons like Cartoon Crazy because they stream their content from multiple sources. Most of such sources contain content that is pirated.

Now, depending on where you live and the law of your country/state/region, you may get in legal trouble for playing videos from such online sources.

In addition to that, there is no strict vetting process for unofficial Kodi add-ons as there is for official Kodi add-ons.

Again, this only adds to the risk of downloading an infected Kodi add-on that contains malicious code. A hacker could easily create a new malware-ridden version of the Cartoon Crazy Kodi add-on and mix that with a bunch of legitimate Kodi add-ons which also cater to children programming.

These are just some of the reasons why we believe that you should not install Cartoon Crazy especially if you do not have access to a good VPN service.

So what else should you do if you decide to not use the Cartoon Crazy Kodi add-on? Here is a list of Cartoon Crazy add-ons we think you should try out for all your children’s programming needs.
